Musical Start
I've loved music since my early elementary school days. I was always pretty good in music class, but I really started playing in 2004. Back then I had recently escaped a bad family situation and I started playing drums. I quickly realized that I couldn't play them anywhere but at home, so I started playing guitar. I had a cheap FirstAct guitar, but I played it until I drove my mom crazy. At some point I got a laptop and started learning how to play harder songs online.
After getting pretty decent on a guitar, I put Audacity on my laptop at home. I made a few fun mixes and then started recording my own guitar to see how it would sound when I played it back. I even used Aduacity to take the instrumental intros and outros from my favorite songs and made them into short ringtones.
After I figured out how to record my voice in Audacity with a cheap pair of computer headphones, everything changed. This around 2006 or so. I took my laptop and computer headphones to my friend's place where we wrote and recorded our first song. It was pretty horrible, but it's still funny to listen to. Since we've stayed friends and we still make music together.
