Attitude is Everything

Have you ever noticed that some people just never seem to get ahead?
Even more puzzling is that others are leaps and bounds ahead of the rest the world. How do they do it? What sets them apart? Among many things that they do differently, attitude makes the biggest difference.
Attitude is Everything
Everyone can remember an old friend of theirs, or an acquaintance from high school that never really grew up. The person seems to have all of the makings of an adult; a car, a place of their own, perhaps even a child. Most young adults would consider that if a person has their own place, they’re “grown up”. It’s really not possesions or milestones that determine these things and how life turns out, but our attitudes.

Make Yourself Before You Break Yourself
A couple words heard all-to-often are the words “make”, “made”, “can’t” and “impossible”. Think about it. How many times have you heard, “they made me mad” or “that made me upset”? some readers may not be ready for what they are about to read, but try this on for size: no one can make you do anything. Of course, right away most readers start thinking, ‘well a police officer can make me go to jail’ or ‘a person with a gun to my head can make me do this or that’. Calm down for a second. Take a breathe. Think about it.

The Power of Choice
Can a person really make you mad? No. A person can say a combination of words, which are heard. From there, every person on Earth can CHOOSE to decide how to react to those words, either negatively or positively. Everything ever said either lifts others up, or tears them down. If you are speaking, you can choose what to say. As humans, there are only a limited number of things we can truly control. Not relationships, not people, not the weather. We can however, control our own attitudes.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner
Who do you think is more likely to get that promotion at work? The person who complains often and can’t think for themselves about how to accomplish the next step? Or the person who is always positive and thinking about what’s next? Who do you think will have more success in business? In investing? In relationships and family? In hoobbies? The person with a positive attitude will always come out the winner, because there is nothing a positive person cannot achieve.
“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on Earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.”
-Thomas Jefferson
